REDUCED: Superb Antique Proportional Divider, Draughtsman's Instrument by F Cox. Presented within Original Carry Case. .C 1850's.
Exquisitely engraved proportional divider by F COX, 100 NEWGATE STREET, LONDON. (Working at this address 1845 – 1870), specialist makers of scientific and mathematical instruments. This is a superb quality 19th century instrument in un-touched original condition. All hand engraved. Majority of the original finish remains.
This is a charming vintage proportional divider, ideal as a desk ornament or use by an enthusiast. Solid metal with a pleasing weight in the hand and displaying a desirable aged patina. It has four engraved scales in the frame for Solids, Plans, Circles & Lines. It divides by way of a knurled adjustment knob.
The perfect gift for any architect, draughtsman, or nautical enthusiast.
